Tilghman Island, located on the Chesapeake Bay and Choptank River, is separated from the mainland by Knapps Narrows.
Located 11 miles west of St. Michaels, Tilghman is known for its seafood, boating and sport fishing.
Built in 1890 by the Jackson family of Philadelphia PA, Tilghman Island Manor was erected as a large country farm house to escape the confines of the city and its heat.
Situated in the middle of the island, the farmhouse is ideally located equidistant to both the Chesapeake Bay and the Choptank River.
Back when the island was full of working watermen, the house served as a boarding house and is rumored to have slept eighteen!
